Can a heat pump heat my home as well as cool it?
Yes. It cools in summer and heats in winter. For the coldest days, a dual fuel system adds a gas furnace that takes over automatically.
Do I need ductwork for air conditioning?
No. Central systems use your furnace ducts, but a ductless mini-split can cool one room or several without any.
Will I get a rebate?
Often. BC Hydro and CleanBC run rebates on efficient systems. Check their sites, and our staff will help with the application if you need it.
Why service my system every year?
It keeps your manufacturer warranty valid, keeps the system running efficiently and finds small faults before they cost more.
Do you repair systems you didn't install?
Yes. We repair and service all major makes and models, and can retrofit older systems.

Why a heat pump
A heat pump moves heat instead of making it. In summer it carries warm indoor air outside; in winter it brings outdoor warmth in. In Metro Vancouver a heat pump can reach up to 90% efficiency and keep your home comfortable year-round.
Replacing a furnace?
Look at dual fuel. An electric heat pump handles cooling and most heating, and a high-efficiency gas furnace takes over in the coldest weather. One thermostat switches to whichever is cheaper to run.
What affects the price
How many rooms you want cooled, whether your home already has ductwork, the equipment you choose, and any rebates you qualify for. We come out, look at your home and give you a free consult before anything is decided.
Rebates
BC Hydro and CleanBC often offer rebates on energy-efficient systems. Applications usually go through your own account. If you get stuck, our office will help.
Keep your warranty
Manufacturers ask for service records when a system fails. Without them they can decline or prorate your warranty. Annual servicing keeps you covered, keeps the system efficient and catches small problems before they turn into big ones. Ask us about our maintenance membership plans.
Asbestos in older homes
Asbestos was common in B.C. buildings until the early 1990s. If we find it when we cut into a wall, ceiling or floor, our team is trained, certified and licensed to contain it, remove it and dispose of it safely.
